Feeding the Hungry

Blessings in a Backpack

Faith Church participates in the Blessings in a Backpack program by supplying food to children living in low-income households who attend Julius Marks Elementary. Backpacks are filled with nonperishable food to be sure children have nourishing food to eat over the weekend.

CWS Crop Walk

Faith church joins with people across the city by sponsoring a team to walk in the annual Greater Lexington CROP Hunger Walk, a program of Church World Service.

God’s Pantry

God’s Pantry is a local, ecumenical food pantry serving the needs of the hungry in Lexington and Eastern Kentucky through a series of distribution centers. Faith participates in this ministry by collecting food and monetary offerings.  Canned or boxed items (no glass, please) can be deposited in the blue barrel in the gathering area outside the church sanctuary.

Community Meal

Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church provides a Community Meal each Thursday evening throughout the year.
