The Mission Lexington Dental Clinic provides free dental services to uninsured adults in Fayette County, KY, whose earnings place them at or below the federal poverty level.
The clinic provides dental exams, radiographs, restorative work, extractions, dentures (for a fee), partials, root canals, emergency dental care, and medications such as antibiotics, when needed.
Mission Health Lexington began with an idea that there was a need for dental care for the poor and uninsured people of Lexington in 2002. In 2003, Calvary Baptist furnished a building, Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church provided an architect, and Faith Lutheran Church supported the cause financially and with church member’s commitment and muscle, transforming a former dress shop into a dental clinic. In June 2006, the Dental Clinic finally opened its doors and has been providing care for the past 18 years. The clinic provides free dental exams, X-Rays, fillings, extractions and root canals. Patients can also replace teeth with dentures for a reduced fee. Along with dental care, there is also a Medical Clinic which provides free primary care, ob-gyn care, mental health services and medical lab work. Finally, Faith Pharmacy and Vision Care have completed the comprehensive care services at Mission Health Lexington. These clinics are all supported by Faith Lutheran, Calvary Baptist, Good Shepherd Episcopal, Maxwell Street Presbyterian and South Elkhorn Christian Church.
230 South Martin Luther Blvd. (across from Calvary Baptist church) Mission Health Lexington’s clinics are all now located at this location.
